West Point Military Academy: A Cadet Engagement

Autumn in New York is a spectacular site. along the Hudson River there are plenty of spectacular views to feast  your eyes on. The golden sun and long shadows in mid afternoon, highlight the colors of trees hugging the shoreline. The tacit scene, in all of it's glory and perennial ephemera, is romantic, contemplative, majestic and inspiring.

Overlooking this splendor and adding to its wonderment is the West Point Military Academy.  The campus rests on high ground overlooking the Hudson River, 50 miles north of New York City and is a national landmark. The grounds are known for its scores of historic sites, neogothic architecture, and spirited monuments.  What a treasured place indeed.

As a photographer, I suppose I tend toward romanticizing places like these, but this inclination is common among cadets and visitors too.

I had the distinct pleasure to photograph a new graduate and his fiance there this weekend.  The weather and setting were spectacular I hope you enjoy them...
