INTORDUCTION:
Photographing kids and getting the results you want can be a real challenge or an adventure depending on your prerogative! They’re bustling, they’re interested, they’re uninterested; they're sad, mad, glad, happy, and adventurous.... Most kids have done one of two things when I first meet them: they either smile and warm up or they tend toward the shy side. In either case, the challenge of course, is to find a common ground where they can be themselves – I mean, really be themselves – that's when the magic happens and that is what you want! One of my secrets, if you want to call it that, is that I don’t shoot fake smiles. With kids, you MUST work on their terms it's the only way I know of to photograph what’s real and authentic. I aim to capture the expressions you know of as their parents, the unique quisitive look or thoroughly happy smiles that makes your hear melt - that's what I focus on (pun intended). I am convinced that approaching photo sessions with this aproach in mind is the only way to consistently produce portraits that are heartwarming heirlooms. The experience should be enjoyable, if not, entertaining for my subjects and their parents. Click the "Learn More" button below for the 5 tips. |
